Sid Fuchs Keynotes the 2013 Encounter Engineering Business Conference at LSU
On August 21st 2013 Sid Fuchs, CEO of MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) and author of the strategic networking book, Get Off the Bench, keynoted the 2013 Encounter Engineering Business Conference at Louisiana State University (LSU).
Over 400 students, faculty and business professionals attended the Science, Technology, and Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-related event to learn about how to build a trusted network of advisors and peers, what it means to be a lifelong learner, and the value of professional mentorship.
“The topic of strategic networking and the ability to do it well is critically important to students as they start and nurture their careers,” Fuchs said. “I was honored to provide the insights I have
gained from successfully building my network and look forward to continuing
to support critical STEM programs across the country.”
Fuchs ended his keynote address by touching on his list of “Top 20 Things I’ve Learned”, featured in Get Off the Bench. The list includes his top takeaways from his 30-year career in both the public and private sectors.
Fuchs graduated with BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University and was named Executive in Residence earlier this year and teaches courses on the topics of the leadership management, business strategy, and strategic networking.
